Welcome to SkyWarn NZ

SkyWarnNZ

SkyWarn New Zealand is an independent voluntary organisation, operating a network of storm spotters with the goal of reporting local severe weather. Our aim is to collect reports on specific severe weather events and pass these on to relevant organisations. Such reports may then be used for forecast verification, preparation and research. Reports may, at times, be passed to media outlets if warranted. We maintain a database of all reports received. All our spotters are volunteers, and SkyWarn NZ makes no charge for membership.

Now you know a bit about who we are and what we do, if you are interested in joining us as a spotter, please register and indicate your interest via the SkyWarn NZ Forum.
